Vicars wife...

Another classic from the asbojesus website. For those of you who know Lisa can you see her fitting this role??!!!
This one also made me chuckle, especially given the exam questions that have been thrown at me this week:

Bono at the NAACP Awards

If you've got 6 1/2 minutes to spare watch this amazing, impassioned acceptance speech. Last minute or 2 especially worth listening to. Let me know what you think...

Scouse wit...

Big match for Liverpool in Athens tomorrow night against AC Milan in the Champions League Final. Can the Reds win it for the 6th time? Will AC get revenge for our amazing comeback victory in the same final in 2005? At the moment though it's taken a bit of a backseat for me because of my viva on Thursday and exams next week - for those that know me you'll know that means I'm quite stressed about the exams etc! Anyway couldn't resist taking just a couple of mins off revision to share these egs of banners going with Liverpool fans to the match - you can't beat scouse humour!

COME ON LIVERPOOL!!!

'Mars bars get veggie status back'

Makes me chuckle to see this as currently the 2nd 'headline' under news on the bbc.co.uk homepage!

...and on that note back to the revision.

Revision avoidance...

Websites like 'Asbo Jesus' are far more fun than revision. This is just a sample that has cheered me up today - click here to see more from where these came from.

The joys of commuting by bicycle in English weather...

Decided to leave college today to cycle home when I thought it looked like the rain had stopped and the sky was clearing. Hmmmmm.....
Obviously not the man to trust for your weather predicting needs!

Though looking at it on here not sure the photo quite does justice to how soaking wet I actually was, the trousers should actually be quite a light grey. Anyway, time for a deserved hot bath!

Phew!

One tired and relieved student sitting here. Very glad that my 4 x 3000 word assessed essays and 10,000 word pastoral portfolio have all now been handed in a couple of days ahead of Monday's noon deadline. It's been a hard slog these last few weeks! Might actually get round to putting a bit of info as to what they were all about for anyone who's remotely interested at some point - but not now. Ready for lots of sleep and rest this weekend before getting stuck into revision next week.

Athens here we come part 2...

Amazing clip of the fans before the Liverpool fans before the match on Tues. night. What an atmosphere - are there better fans anywhere in the world?!

Anyway, thought I'd add some thoughts to my inane shouting after the match on Tuesday night (see below), especially now that I know who Liverpool are going to face in the final in Athens in a few weeks.

It was not a game for the football purists, but it was never going to be. I know I'm biased but I did think that Liverpool had the better of it and would have actually won it before penalties if it were not for the crossbar and a very dodgy offside decision. Typical Mourinho comments after the game saying that the best team lost and they were the only team trying to win in normal play blah blah blah... Not for 1 minute claiming that Liverpool played particularly well, but Chelsea just did not turn up and never for 1 minute did they look like they were really trying to avoid it going to pens. Love the headline on 1 of the BBC articles: 'Mourinho the Deluded One' - very apt. Admittedly they outplayed us in the 1st half of the 1st leg, but not apart from that and they've only got themselves to blame. Would still love to know what Lampard does to deserve his automatic place in England's midfield - thought he was absolutely useless on Tues.

Heard an interesting fact at the end of the match - Liverpool have now been in 11 penalty shoot outs over the years, and have won 10 of them. Remarkable! Think England need to come and learn something from us!

Then last night AC Milan played Man Utd off the park, and we're now on for a replay of the 2005 final - still the greatest of many great moments in Liverpool's history for me anyway. People kept asking me who I wanted to get through yesterday - and in all truth I wasn't too bothered, just glad that Liv had made it. The revenge factor makes it all the more interesting though! Ferguson had the decency to acknowledge Utd's flaws after the game, but then attacks the Premier League saying they did nothing to help their cause. Aaaarrrgggghhhh...don't you just feel really sorry for them!!! Not quite sure what he expected them to do.

Anyway, and so on to the final on 23rd May. Can't believe that it's the night before I've got a really important viva (oral exam kind of thing) at 9.30 in the morning! Would have loved to be able to nip up to Liverpool to watch it their after the amazing scenes and atmosphere of 2005, but not to be unfortunately. Can Liverpool do it again? AC Milan will undoubtedly be the favourites, but that gives me a sense of deja vu from last time. We shall see...
